A mother, who helps keep the wheels running at a centre for women, some from war-torn countries, has been nominated for a Pride in Our People Awards by its founder.

Nousha Pakpour founded the Lady's Creative Centre in 1990 to support women of all ages and backgrounds across the globe to share their creative skills or discover hidden talents and boost their confidence.

The centre, currently based in Haven Green, Ealing has a band of volunteers who help with a variety of projects including creative writing and art classes, children's activity workshops, social gatherings and outings, fund-raising events and exhibitions.
